Simple pleasures. We used to get the local train travelling one stop, buy a Smurf from the nearby garage and travel home again. DS was about four and loved trains and looked forward to the weekly trip

Too many things to list and as I can't see my kids or grandchildren at the moment I don't want to think about it. 😪

Just chatting away, mostly nonsense, getting hugs and snuggles, doing crafts, watching telly together, making her laugh. My Dd is 13 yr9 and all I get now are grunts, on her phone and eye rolls! 😢😢 I did actually make her laugh the other day but I think half way through she was like oh I don't laugh with her anymore, must stop now. I miss her x

Knowing everything that was happening in their little worlds, getting information out of teenagers is like trying to infiltrate the space programme.

I miss reading stories with them ...
putting together activity packs for plane journeys (do you remember plane journeys?)... Wrapping up big boxes of inexpensive plastic tat for Christmas presents that I know they will love... Having them small enough to sit on my lap for cuddles ... Having them think that mum knows everything (that phase didn't last long!) ... and only having to pay for a kiddies meal at a restaurant. |

The out of the blue jumping on my knee and giving the biggest squeeze ever .
I’d like to add as DH and I were only talking of our childhood memories earlier that I would give anything to go back in time snuggling up to my dad after he came in from work in the car factory, if I close my eyes I can still smell the car factory fumes that lingered on his clothes |

Snuggling up in bed and reading stories.
Christmas morning - all the excitement. Going on all the kiddie rides at Disney, Alton Towers, etc. Watching family movies together.
