Sell my deposit!

Hey Dibbers!

So we had our next Orlando holiday booked for September 2020 but we are expecting and are due when we would be in Orlando so have had to cancel the holiday.

We have spoken to Virgin holidays and unfortunately, they aren't able to refund the money so we are looking at our options to try to not loose the full £350 deposit.

Virgin have said we can cancel and loose the money (Not what we want to do) or we can rebook in the near future to another holiday, however, we dont really want to book anything with the baby being due.

I dont know if it is an option but has anyone sold their deposit to someone else at a cheaper price for example?

Any advice would be great!

Wouldnt it incur a name change fee? Might not be worth it for someone else.

Can you not claim on your travel insurnace if you your unable to fee due to pregnancy.

I would include that in the selling of the deposit.

Unfortunately not.

Can you change all the names are does the lead booker still need to go?

Could you maybe move it to a cheaper holiday somewhere closer before the baby is due?

I would have to speak to Virgin about the name changes come to think of it. Thanks for that

Virgin is so expensive and I would rather spend the money elsewhere. Also, I dont really want to fly far.

I think realistically you may have to accept losing the £350. I very much doubt an insurance company would pay out for pregnancy as it's not an unexpected medical condition, and you were involved in the production process.

Insurance may cover you if your due date is during the period airlines won’t carry you due to advanced pregnancy. Worth a call to find out.
Logically you’d think it wouldn’t be covered as “self inflicted” however as it comes under medically unadvisable to travel in some cases it is covered.

LOL @ Mickey House - "production process"

Can't you look at doing a baby moon when baby arrives?
