I’ve just rang Aviva as I thought I’d missed something which could be important. Having been overly thorough in my application I remembered in the middle of the light that maybe 5 years ago dh had a superficial thrombophlebitis (blood clot in superficial vein) and had a visit to hospital and test before treatment. Now heaven forbid this were to happen again and I panicked we wouldn’t be covered. Rang up and chatted to them about it, the girl asked if he was continuing treatment to which I said no it was 5 years ago. She told me that they only ask for history of 12 months so hasn’t noted this in our file, if this does end up being the case I will request that they listen to the recording that they should have made

Most of the insurers ask for the past two years history but there are the odd ones that ask for five years and some only one year. I'm with Axa this year and they only wanted one year history as well as the usual EVER category of heart/breathing/cancer etc.
