Sorry yes a typo, just virgin miles, what I am actually trying to get from it all is an upgrade to first class as a surprise for my husband as he is really tall, and he is coming out a week after us.
I don't think i will be able to get enough virgin miles in time, presuming we have book these reward/ upgrade seats the moment they are released ? for next August to get the rest of us upgraded to premium economy, ( it really doesn't matter for us it would just be a lovely bonus)
Thank you for you help x

As I understand it, not all economy fares are upgradeable with Virgin Miles. I believe they have extended the range of eligible fare classes but the cheapest fares are still not upgradeable.

As I said, that's my understanding. Hopefully someone else with better knowledge of the scheme will confirm or deny this.

Good luck

So current state of play is as follows:

Known
  • Disney's Yacht Club 11 nights - £6,000 (£252 cashback in the end - will use for spending money)

Estimates
  • Universal RPR 3 nights - best now £658 with Thomas Cook hotel. Might be better to go slightly more expensive and get higher rate of cashback though with the likes of ebookers perhaps?
  • Universal 3 Park Tickets about £918 (too hopeful perhaps?) Definitely waiting it out on this one.
  • Flights £1,533 currently:
... Based on finding a good price of about £3,200 VA direct return - have tracked 2017 prices like crazy
... Currently have saved £1,667 worth of miles - still saving...
  • Spending money to go £450 (already have approx $800 in cash, gift card & cashback due to convert)

Total £9,559
Previously over target by £1,202
Currently over target by £1,059

I've just got my next Amex gold card so once I've spent 2k (22k miles), referred DH (9k miles) and he's spent 2k (22k miles), I reckon I should have another 53k miles (£318 off flights) by the end of August

We're staying at the yacht club this August. Two adults two kids 16 nights flying with aer lingus on a ba flydrive has cost us £8700. It's been a struggle but we are on target. You can do it OP

sorry because i am fascinated, what do you mean by over target is this flight targets your talking about or your whole total.
With quidco as I am new to it but already have just under £500 in the pot, do you have to wait until a certain time after your holiday before the cashback is available as you mention using it as spends x

I've got points sat in my clubcard account waiting for them to do a miles boost. Any idea when they'll do the next one?

I don't know if you have done one before, if not I did one this week through my virgin card through their partners link rather and I got a ten percent boost for it being my first time
