Flying Visit - Thursday to Sunday - Worth it?
Hi Dibbers,
We're considering a ridiculously short visit at the end of January for just me and my wife, Thursday 25th January returning on Sunday 28th January. Would we be mad to do this? We've only been back since 4th November, but I can't wait to go back, and this could be the chance! We can get direct flights with Virgin for less than £400 each and stay at Cabana Bay for £400. Crazy? Mad? Genius? HELP! |

Depends how you deal with jet lag.
I've done three nights to Vegas several times so I'd do it but it isn't for everyone. |

I’ve done 5 nights international drive before just me and my partner and I was happy to get back to the kids after a few days haha
So like the above said, if you deal with jet lag okay then go for it. |

I wouldn't consider £400 each cheap on flights for it to be such a short trip, it's still prob gonna cost you 2 grand but if money is no object... go for it

For a few days, no it’s too expensive unless as someone says money no object. Imo better off saving and going for longer and enjoying it more. You would have to cram and choose.

Costs aside... 3 nights is probably cutting it a bit fine, you'll really only get two usable days depending on the times of your flights. 4 nights is a comfortable minimum for that length of flight IME though.
I've done Sydney for 3 nights before though, so I clearly don't follow my own advice. |

Personally, no. Too long a flight for such a short holiday.
I'd save the money and keep an eye out for a week/2 week last minute deal. |

I only got the short break to Florida in my head as we’re looking at New York from Thursday to Monday for a similar price, and thought if we can do NY, why not Florida again?
Truthfully, we’ll likely do New York, but I’m not writing the Sunshine state off just yet! |

If you want to do the parks it adds a lot to the cost, if you have an AP already with the cost of Manhattan hotels, probably work out a similar total cost.

Personally, that's not long enough for me and would amount to a very high cost per day, and that's without park tickets or spends.
If you waited another few months to book and could go in May (or end of April) you could probably get a 2 week package (flights & hotel) with Thomson for less!
