I ignore most use by dates except for meat. Just use common sense.
Eg: I always cut the green bits of cheese & eat the rest. Edited at 09:32 AM. |

I don't really look at use by dates. You can tell if something is off by look / smell. Most of the food I get doesn't have them on anyway - eggs come from local farm, fruit and veg from local farm shop and we so rarely eat meat. Cheese I just cut off any mouldy parts and eat the rest. I can remember once in my life getting mild food poisoning and that was from undercooked chicken.
You will absolutely know if an egg is off when you crack it. By god, the smell is awful and you will need to open every window in your house to get rid of it!

Eggs never used to have dates on them and people still lived to tell the tales.. They might not make good poached eggs though but should be good for everything else.

They will be fine, last weekend I made scrambled eggs with eggs that were 2 weeks out of date, I did check to make sure they didn't float. Yesterday I made pancakes and the eggs were 2 days out of date, I didn't even bother checking them.
My sister also says that you will know by the smell if an egg is off when you crack it, but personally I've never seen one.

This 👆🏼
You soon know if they are off. And tbh a couple of days won’t make much difference . You will be fine.

Yes - I wouldn't think twice about eating them. BB dates on most things are just daft.
Crack it open - if it is bad you know know immediately. Why waste good food. |

Did a big clean out of our fridge the other week... Found some eggs at the back with a BB of Sept 2019! No idea how they were still in there.
Reckon they'd be okay?!
