Thanks for your input guys . All sounds positive
So is there anywhere you recommend that has ' stuff to do'
Eg maybe a water park, a theme park, a big show etc ?
Couldn't be doing with just sat on a beach or by a pool for a fortnight

We have been to these places. Also the medieval town of Silves, especially in August if the medieval festival is on. Cant think of a theme park.

We have gone Go Karting in Almancil near Vale Do Lobo

kartingalgarve/phone/...ancil-eng.html

Huge Water park in Quarteira

aquashowpark/en/

Crazy golf in Vilamoura

familygolfpark.pt/en/gallery/

All these places are very close to each other but you would need a car.
We also had a really good day at Zoo Marine when the kids were younger, about 45-60 mins drive away from the Vale do Lobo/Vilamoura area

I had forgotten the karting. We have been there too.
We love Portugal but we don’t really sit about too much either and none of us like the beach for long.

I'm sure you have but have a look on Tripadvisor as well. You can ask questions on their forums just like you can here. There are experts on there that will be able to help.

DH and our boys have gone karting here autodromodoalgarve/the-park/kartodromo/. Great fun. We're going back to Luz next summer and they will be going again. Also been fishing just off the coast.

If you fancy a drive head to the west coast... details from our last trip, see below.

Just found the restaurant "Sitio De Forno", in Praia do Amado. Someway along a beaten track, read about it in the Sunday Times. So worth it for the view and traditional Cataplana and if you make it there after lunch go right out to the edge of the cliff and to your left you will see the surfers beach. Drive along, plenty parking.
