New England Boston to Acadia Day 3

We were up and ready to leave on the 8am free hotel shuttle back to the airport to collect the hire car. We had booked through Budget and we picked up a nice Chevy Tahoe in white. Lots of room and was able to Bluetooth my phone to the sound system. We then headed out of the airport to look for somewhere for breakfast. We stopped at Friendly’s and had a great breakfast. The waitress had just returned from Ogunquit and gave up some tips. Suitably full we left and drove the nice easy drive up to Maine passing briefly through New Hampshire and then into Maine. We played the licence plate game and looked at the scenery and arrived at our hotel in Ogunquit at 1pm.

Unfortunately our room wasn’t ready so we headed to the supermarket to stock up. The hotel ‘The Inn Seasons resort’ has kitchenettes so we bought breakfast and lunch stuff. When we got back the boys went for a swim in the indoor pool. The room was ready at 3.30pm. The room was nice and extremely clean. We had one bedroom unit with a kitchenette, dining area and a sofa bed for the boys. After unpacking we went to Nubble Lighthouse which was a 15 minute drive away. It was lovely and the views amazing. We climbed on the rocks and Ben found a stick which he carried everywhere for the rest of the holiday. We had a look in the gift shop and bought some postcards.
We had bought a roast chicken in the supermarket and had that with salad and lovely Italian bread. Chilled night in the room, with beers and the boys went in the jacuzzi bath.
