Thomas Cook Cash Passport

Hi I’m due to go away in the next couple of months and all my $ are tied up in a Thomas Cook cash passport. Does anyone know if this will be affected if the company go bust. Totally appreciate this is minor compared to all those who could be stranded or have impending holidays but could do with some advice do I try and spend what’s on it now or as it’s classed as a MasterCard pre paid is it safe? Thank you

According to The Independent your money will be absolutely fine.

Could you not go to a cash point here and withdraw your savings and put them onto a different card . Thoughts go out to everyone affected by this 😒

All money on pre-loaded cards should be ring-fenced at whichever bank the money is held. This is a legal requirement.

Thank you so much that’s some relief the card says MasterCard on it so that gives me some reassurance.
