I was researching my Florida holiday, and google got me here...but I was too frightened to join (never done anything on the internet- not very tech savvy) so my daughter joined first... then got me to join. Though I don’t post that much. 😎

My friend recommended it to me, she never joined the forum though just used the other parts. I did tell her many times she was missing the best bit

I just stumbled on it when randomly search for all things disney. Stalked a bit, son joined, then me.

I remember it was a bit like a cheese lover finding a hidden cheese cave all you can eat!

When we first started going in the Early 80s, we had an annual trip to the US embassy in london to get as many leaflets about florida as we could. ... that is how it used to be folks!

The first time I applied for a US visa in 1989 I was serving in the Army in N Ireland. It was all done by post and my passport was sent back stamped with the visa. No visit or anything to the US Embassy. How times have changed.

It’s very big now, mostly as friendly but has lost the intimacy of the early days BUT it’s success is due to that growth...
The original dibbers were amazingly helpful and so many are no sadly longer with us.

You’re right whilst still on the whole a lovely site (there will always be a few unfortunately that seem to want to start trouble ) it has definitely lost the intimacy of previous years, but I guess things change people leave and as with everything time moves on.

Another one for google. I was planning the second trip with my new wife and our daughter and I wanted to find some things that we hadn't done on our first trip and maybe some Disney secrets. Can't believe that was almost ten years ago

I originally joined in 2012, found it by chance through Google. Only used here and there and forgot my login details.
I have a new profile now and am on fairly regularly. I've recommend to a lot of workmates and friends but I don't know if they dibb, if they do they haven't revealed themselves 😂
