That might be a good call, are there any restrictions though or is it just like gift vouchers?

I'm not aware of restrictions. It's about 3 months since I did my last booking and only thing I had to be mindful of was that the hotel I wanted could be paid for with the voucher, but I was looking at Boston and New York and all the hotels I had on my shortlist were eligible. My bookings can also be canceled up to a day or two before check-in which right now is a boost. I had to cancel an NYC hotel booked the same way for last Sep and I got the voucher refunded as well as cash - not sure if the same thing would happen with a COVID cancellation this year.
