Mobile Upgrading DSLR help

Ok , so a little while ago I posted on here for advice on point and shoot for the ease of access to a zoom lens. Thanks for the replies

But following a recent trip to the beach and then editing some photos from earlier in the year I realised that actually my best work is done with my DSLR and it’s kit lens.

So now I think I’d be better off spent my money on a camera upgrade.

I currently have a canon eos 1000d which is start to look a bit long in the tooth. Any advice anyone has on upgrading would be hugely appreciated

Have a budget of £300-£350. So far only looked at canons as I could save a bit by buying just the body.

I’ve ruled out the 4000d as it looks cheap. The 2000d is my current front runner but I can’t shift a nagging doubt about it. I’ve found a 250d in my budget and am looking into that.

Any advice or alternative recommendations greatly appreciated

Have a look at WEX and see if they have any used bodies. You will also be able to trade in your existing if you want to.

What kit lens is you have. Usual ones are only in the 18-55 range where an 18-200 is much more versatile.

Can't advise on models as I have always used Nikon kit.

It’s 18-55mm. Will give Wex a look and have just had a look at the Nikon d3500 which seems to have excellent reviews

If you do move to Nikon I have an 18-5mm kit lens and a Sigma 18-110mm lens I am not using.

D3500 is a pretty decent body.

Must admit though if I was starting afresh now I would be looking at mirrorless. Sony are doing some good kit.
