I’ve banked most of my 2020 points (I had borrowed about a quarter in 2019) and if my Easter Trip does not come off, that’s another chunk of points I’m using at VGF that I won’t use, if I can’t stay at Grand Cali in August I’ll be banking or renting and still have enough for Xmas. Thus I doubt I’ll ever be caught by this 50% rule fortunately even if it does go into 2022. Frankly if we are all back to normal by then and I’m short of points I may even buy a Copper Creek contract and add on more to celebrate.

I'll probably bank my Aug '20 points into '21 soon because my 30 day window for our Xmas trip is fast approaching and I'm pretty sure we'll get cancelled shortly. I've also had an offer accepted on a SS resale with the 160 Jun '20 points already banked into '21 so I'll have enough not to worry about borrowing until '22 hopefully if we pass ROFR.

I’ve worked out I can do 8 nights in a 1 bed at copper creek, or 9 at old key west. So now I need a plan for the other 5/6 nights. I definitely prefer on-site , but I definitely don’t like to pay Disney room rates, so it’s a dilemma!

I’m not expecting it to go back to normal before 22 when in 22 will depend on when we get some normalcy.

I understand that DVC do not have full ownership in the resorts but given the restrictions on borrowing I was surprised to see the accommodations available for cash on the WDW U.K. website.
Given it’s likely we will pay full dues in January I feel annoyed that I can not book the villa for want when I want it due to borrowing restrictions and use year. Is it just me... ? |

I agree it’s very frustrating, as I regularly bank and borrow for my trips, but I guess they could take this ‘privilege’ away permanently if they wanted.
I’m not sure, but I don’t believe they have to allow us to bank and borrow points, they have just always offered it to promote it as versatility and flexibility with the system , but I guess they could decide to remove them permanently if they wanted to? |

I can’t see it changing until we are beyond the 50th anniversary celebrations.
