I know in certain places you need to get permission to take photos if you are going to use them commercially, so it might be best to check with Disney on this, save hassle in the long run.

Would be interested in what they say. I know on another site for photography someone said a location wanted £200 per hour to shoot there commercially, this was just someone with a model and a camera as well.

All requests to use material which are copyrighted by The Walt Disney
Company (e.g. photos, logos, characters, etc.) must be directed, in writing, to the following address: Walt Disney World Legal Department Attn: Requests Post Office Box 10000 Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000 Due to the volume of third-party requests that we receive and in view of the consideration process that these requests are subject to, please know that it may take up to eight weeks for a response to be provided. As such, any requests that are received indicating the need for an immediate response are automatically declined and returned to the sender. We appreciate your understanding. We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to future opportunities to entertain you. The question is "material which are copyrighted by The Walt Disney Company" Is that everything in parks ? Building, lakes, Monorail etc ? |

I saw a few photos for sale on the almy.com website so I guess you can sell them, its just a question of do you need permission.
Are they saying if you want to use a photo they have in your magazine you have to get permission which is understandable, do they mean if you take a photo and want to sell it, who is the copyright with, technically its your photo but you are on there property Also another thing to bear in mind, model release forms, if you took a photo in epcot and part of the photo had a person visible and clear in the shot, if you want to sell the photo you should get a model release form signed, the reason being if that photo was used and the person in the photo found out and didnt like the photo being used for that purpose, they could sue you. It is very tricky as any park is going to have lots of people and you can get them all to sign it, I just guess its a question of what the photo is of. Ie a child playing in the water fountains would be best to get a model release form, even if its a family members child, to cover yourself in the long term. That way they could sign it but mention areas they wouldnt want it to be used for. So it covers you if the person who buys the photo uses it how they shouldnt. |

The people from Relive the Magic sell DVDs of walkthroughs around the parks, as do some other people who take videos and sell them.
As they are still selling the material I guess it is allowed. They do say that they do not take any video or anything which Disney has said no photography or videos allowed so this may be how they get away with it. I hope this can shed some light on things. Toni PS dont buy Relive the magic for lots of money cos they are not that good.
