Photo Tips: Canon DSLR
Canon DSLR
This article and thread is specifically for Canon DSLR questions and answers. Canon got right into the "pro-sumer" market at the right time with the Canon 10d and Canon 300d (Also known as the Digital Rebel.) There are a lot of people out there with these Cameras and the latest updates of them. Edited at 08:33 PM. |

Canons run the Datalight ROM-DOS.
You can explore it using this... reynoldsnet/s10sh/ kernel/pub/dist/knoppix/ (I've not compiled it myself, so here is a dump from a newspost) [Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL] C:> dir A: --n- CAMERA .EXE 391k Wed Oct 8 14:56:36 2003 1 files 401000 bytes [Canon EOS 10D] C:> cd A: --n- CAMERA .EXE 379k Tue Oct 7 14:29:58 2003 1 files 388796 bytes Edited at 10:10 PM. |

Thanks for the info. I'll post some basic tips on using the 350D over the next few days. Anyone else who want to chip in too, please feel free.

Try to shoot in RAW as it gives you much more choice come PC processing.
Buy a decent user book. Amazon do one for £10. It explains the functions in full. Buy the grip. You can add an extra battery, use AA's and it feels better in big hands and when shooting in portrait. Remember that the 350D is an entry-level DSLR. Once your skills improve you may grow out of it and upgrade. With that in mind, try to buy high quality lenses as you won't grow out of them easily.
