New route - Teesside to Heathrow
Eastern Airlines and Teesside airport have today announced a new route due to start on 14th September (well it is more of a reinstatement of a route discountined by BD in 2009).

I can't really see anyone using it looking at those timings, it only works as a connecting flight to the very late New York flights or the Asian flights, and it arrives too late in the day to be of any use to commuters.
I'm sure some will love it but I can't see the point of it myself. Now a flight leaving at 7:15 getting to LHR by 8:20 that would be useful |

If we fly via London we usually stay the night before rather than have an extreme,y long day so this could be another option. Teeside airport is so easy to use- no issues with car parking, never horrendously busy and 20mins from home. Will keep this in mind.

Any new routes rather than cancellations are good news at the moment.

This is the best news for us! Pleased to see the route coming back. I don’t mind the times, just means we will fly down the day before and try and return but not leave on a Saturday. 😀 good to see they are flying everyday too.

Its good that they are getting more flights, on some dummy bookings I did Teesside was coming in as an option, would be good to travel from a local airport.

I don’t suppose you would have any idea when Eastern Airways will release their summer schedule? (that’s assuming they continue with the Teesside route) I’ve tried looking but can’t find that kind of info where I look. Thanks.

We'll certainly look at this for next year I'd stay over night in Heathrow no probs and even having to wait for the afternoon flight back then a 20 min drive home is as appealing as that awful drive back from Manchester in rush hour traffic after a transatlantic flight or indirect and 40 mins drive from Newcastle
