Travel insurance for meducal conditions & missed connection outside uk

Hi, I always get cover for medical conditions, but last year got caught out when our Thomas cook flight went bump a week before we flew. Had to go Aer Lingus which didnt make the connection. Travel inurance only covered missed connection in UK, anyone recommend cover for both these please?

That is something I wouldn�t have thought of

What was the route and what didn�t you get? What did you end up doing if no insurance

We have LV premium cover. We have always been covered for missed connections, we usually fly indirect and it rarely goes smoothly

We went Manchester Dublin, Dublin LAX, but the Manchester flight was delayed 2 hours so missed connection. Had to fly next day so claimed $600 euros each under european law, but couldnt claim through insurance for missed hotel night as it said missed connection in uk pnly. I hadnt even looked at this as we have never flown indirect before!
Looking like we will use this route next year so want to be preoared this time, although I think we will go to Dublin the day before to make sure!
