Oh my gosh, the Loki trailer is out and it starts on disney+ on 11 June.

It looks amazing! so excited for this.

I am ashamed to say that trailer completely lost me 🙈
Not sure if I ve missed a marvel movie along the line. The last one I watched is when they kill the big purple guy.

I don't think you've missed anything. The only film between Avengers: End Game (where they killed the big purple guy) and now was the Spider-Man: Far From Home film. And Loki did not appear in that film and watching it isn't necessary.

A bit of a refresher...

Back in Avengers: End Game, the Avengers went back in time to get the various Infinity Stones in order to kill the big purple guy. Some of them went back to New York around the time of the first Avengers movie. At one point, they got the terreract - the blue glowing cube thingy - but then dropped it in front of Loki, who is in handcuffs after being captured at the end of the first Avengers movie. Loki picks up the blue glowing cube and teleports away. As shown here:

But this means that time has now changed. Loki is no longer captured by the Avengers and can't be taken back to Asgard by Thor to be punished. It causes a paradox. And it was never addressed in the End Game movie.

This new Loki series is about what happened after Loki teleported away with the tesseract. An agency that looks after the timeline recruits this Loki that teleported away and gets him to help correct that paradox and any other problems with the timeline along the way. Or, at least, that's their plan.
