Very pleased with the result, but they were all worthy finalists.

I think Alexina should have won but perhaps that’s because her dishes suited my palate the most?
I still long for the day that they actually cook the red meat on this programme, I simply could not eat any of the beef, lamb, duck and even pork now, that they prepare

I agree about Alexina, also Mikes food is appealing to me, Toms is not what I would choose to eat but he is clearly very talented. I like my meat medium rare but often its served nearly raw on masterchef!

I’m really glad tom won. Alexina put me off when she said “it was hers to lose”- thought Tom was an outstanding winner

I think the cooking methods and the TV lighting give an impression that isn't accurate.

E.g. reverse searing does away with the layer under the crust you get with normal pan frying. The steak Tom served was almost certainly medium rare.

The standard of the 3 amateurs was exceptional.

We said the same when she said it - and later she said she still thought she'd win. She maybe meant the comments differently to how they came out, but she just sounded cocky.
I think the best one won, unfortunately Mike made too many mistakes.
