There has been talk of finishing at half term for DS’s school but nothing confirmed. He’s had a week of assessments last week and another from 10th May. Grades will have to be decided well before the June 18th as they have to be checked by other teachers/heads of year before they’re handed in so it makes sense to finish at half term.

Both my GCSE and A-Level DD’s are currently doing SAP’s this week and again the week after half term in June, presumably to back up their submitted results? (Much to their disappointment!)

I would imagine that they will finish on the 18th June? As I don’t suppose there’s a reason to be there once their results have been submitted but we’ve not heard about that yet.

Youngest Dd is having prom too on 4th July which I was surprised about.

My son finishes end of May too. Then goes back near end of June for a few weeks to get a head start on sixth form. But then breaks up as normal for summer holidays.

My son is finishing the week of 24th May (exact day to be decided).

Fist week of June is half term and the 2 following weeks are given to teachers for grading assessments, gathering evidence and deciding CAG, which then have to be checked and agreed by department heads and then school senior leadership team before being signed of by the Headmaster and submitted on 18th June.

They are currently testing the children in exam conditions and also giving them controlled assessments, as well as plugging any gaps in their work.

We've also been told by school that the DfE has said it's compulsory until June 25th.

How strange I saw an article at the end of March that it was at the schools discretion.

End of half term for my dd. The school have said they are planning some end of year celebrations so I don’t know what they are yet. It is going to be a long summer of doing nothing

That's what my sons school have said - compulsory until June 25th because the DfE says so. I've googled it but can't find anything except that by law school is compulsory until the last Friday of June the year they turn 16. I wonder if school is interpreting this as standing this year without any other direction.
