Squeaky bum time

Our final balance is due tomorrow for mid July holiday. We are booked with dial a flight for flights with virgin and a car booking. I was all intent and happy to pay the balance but now it’s due I’m having second thoughts. Too many unknowns I think for me. Argh it’s so hard!

Our balances are due next week. We have requested if the due date can be moved back but we haven’t heard back yet.

I wouldn’t honestly be expecting to go in July. If my booking were with somebody like Disney, I would maybe cross my fingers and pay it anyway as they have been excellent with refunds.

I would be hesitant to out my money with a TA though as a lot have been unforthcoming with refunds, do you know how Dialaflight have generally dealt with people over the last twelve months?

If it`s any comfort we are booked to travel on 3rd July and have paid for flights, car hire, and airport parking. There are conflicting views on what will happen in the coming months but many of the naysayers may well have been part of the "there will be no international travel at all in 2021" brigade.

It is a judgement call and I think every day will be squeaky bum time until it is established whether travel is causing an issue or not (and it becomes a normal thing to do again). It didn't cause a spike last year and we didn't have the vaccines/experience with the virus then - so I remain optimistic it won`t be an issue this year.

Have spoken to Dialaflight. No rush for payment, can now have till next week. Must say they have been really good. Looking at flights for October but coming up quite expensive.

Another option is perhaps wrapping round Feb half term 2022 but looks like it could be cold. So then may be Easter half term.

Stupid covid!

We've been for a week in early Feb 3 times and the weather has been a British summer's day most of the time. We had 2 rain days where we went shopping and the rest beautiful some in the high twenties but most around 23 with blue skies and cool evenings. I wouldn't totally rule it out unless you want hot hot weather which at this stage I wouldn't blame you if you do. At this stage I'd go to Death Valley in August to get some heat in my bones
