Love St Ives - we can get these in under two hours from home if we are lucky.
We tend to prefer Airbnb over hotels there though.

Could you recommend where you stay? We always stay at the Pednolva, it’s beautiful but expensive so we only ever stay a few days.

I’m happy to suggest a few places but we honestly just choose whatever is available that’s an easy walk to the centre (there are some evil hills) that comes with parking and two bedrooms
I’ve never been disappointed yet.

Thanks! The walk up The Warren to the Pednolva is a killer, but when you get there you’re rewarded with the terrace with a glass of wine and a sea view.

Can’t go wrong with Pednolva. You quite literally get what you pay for.
If you want a good alternative, have a look at Tregenna Castle. A lovely location in grounds and with good views. Old, faded and rather magnificent. Have a look at their website. It is rumoured that Hermann Goering had it earmarked as his U.K. residence. We used to use it for the annual West Cornwall CID Christmas ≈≈≈≈ up and dinner.

I have done both the walk and the wine! And yes it’s a killer walk and view! Never stayed there though.
CFB I have seen some very cheap deals for Tregennna Castle on Travelzoo (though not recently that I can recall). Good to see you recommend it

It is a very large place, has pitch and put etc. It has history and is now a resort. The reception rooms have grandeur. It is the total opposite to Pednolva , which is all glass and steel.. lovely, but in a different way.
