Happy St George’s Day.

I have been watching bbc breakfast for about an hour, apart from the weather lady mentioning the red and white tulips, there has been no mention of SGD at all, so predictable.

I went on the bbc news website, nothing there either. When I typed St. George’s day in, no mention, but any amount of links to st Patrick’s day.

It might not be important to you, but as a patriotic Englishman, it means a lot to me.

I always keep my Villa Facebook updated and I struggled to find a suitable picture for today.

St George, the Turk (or would be now) who never set foot in England and was someone beheaded for refusing to back down and renounce his Christianity. Beggar all to do with England, but made a Saint by Edward III who heard the story of the man who refused to back down to the pagans.
Bit like St Patrick who was English, but at least he went to Ireland.

It’s great to have it as an English day though, just a shame it doesn’t get more press.

Happy St George’s day everyone

I'll take a walk to the pub later and have a throughly English lunch of a couple of pints.

I need to get out on my daily walk to help my BP on this subject.

I am pretty sure William & Kate had a jolly zoom call wearing green celebrating St Patrick’s Day and the BBC lot had green on as well.

Why is it so abhorrent to a lot of these “metropolitan” types to be english ?

Lovely morning here in Chester.
Looks like a school trip down by the river. All very smart waving their little English flags at the passing river boats.
Pub gardens already full.
