EMH has been replaced by the new 30 minute early entry to every park. This was announced as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations so will still be in place in October.

Going by the park planner, parks seem to start getting booked out 2-3 months before, but I can see October filling up very quickly now there is under 6 months to go. Remember US visitors (the largest group) tend to book late holidays to Disney.

Disney has discontinued EMH. So there will no longer be any EMH. Instead Disney are going to allow onsite guests into each park 30 minutes before offsite guests. That applies to all parks every day.

You don't need to know the opening hours in order to book park reservations. A park reservation will allow you to enter that park at any time that it is open.

TBH, there's no rush to book park reservations for October. Other than 1st October at Magic Kingdom which has been fully booked for a while now, October probably won't start being booked up until July. Therefore just make sure you book your days before July.

I don't think so. I've not heard any mention of it yet.

Disney simply stated it would be "coming later this year as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations" back when they announced it in January.

You could interpret that as meaning the 30 minute early entry won't start much before October. It certainly doesn't sound like it'll start any time soon.
