Dining near Universal but not Universal hotels or Citywalk
Staying at HRH for 8 nights late August 2020.
Just wondered if there were any areas outside Universal (i.e. not the Universal hotels, theme parks or City walk) worth visiting for nice or interesting meals? We won't have a car so are willing to walk (if possible) or use Uber. Thanks |

We took uber to Longhorns - cost about $5 in Lyft. Well worth it. A lot cheaper than onsite and superb steaks and a free starter with coupon made it good value.

Outback, ale house and golden coral are just outside. As the road looks dangerous to cross I would get an Uber/lyft.

Millers ale house, golden coral, carribbaas are all just across kirkman road. It is a wide road but easy enough to cross. There is a bridge but it had not been finished last month.
From HRH walk past the boat dock and then either go down major boulevard or go down universal blvd and turn right onto vineland and at the junction with kirkman road you will see miller and coral on the right , carrabba's is just past the chevron gas station. Hotter and mc d are on kirkman as well. Or take a uber or lyft it will still work out good value. We used Lyft to go to olive garden near orlando eye and it was less then $10. |

Sweet Tomatoes is not far from Universal and easy to get to. Lovely selection of salad items then soups, breads, pasta etc plus dessert. Sign up to their email club and you'll receive vouchers for lunch, dinner and birthday. Lovely place and we always go at least once each trip.
A little further way away is Hash House a Go Go, interesting menu and the portions are huge! The chicken pot pie could easily feed two You can't go wrong with places like Olive Garden and Millers and if you like fish, Red Lobster and Joe's Crab Shack worth a visit. Enjoy! Kev Edited at 02:10 PM. |
