A whole one should be fine, maybe take it away if it gets small enough to choke on. Digby never took to a frozen carrot unfortunately! He will only eat them steamed... Spoiled pooch

Another question please
Breeder will send some food home with him (skinners field &trial) ,at pets at home we were given free bags of wainwright’s puppy food . Do I mix a bit of his old with the new food ; gradually reducing the old ? Also should he have any wet food ? Or is 3 bowls of dry food a day ok ?

Yes dog can have all dry of that’s what you decide .
Also yes gradually change ie mix a small amount reducing the original food , a slight bit more each day , maybe 10% first day and so on , I think it took me about a week to be on completely the new food .

You start by mixing a little bit of the new with mainly the old and slowly change it. My dogs had all dry food for the first couple of years. Then I started to feel bad that they had no variety (although they didn’t complain), so I decided to give dry food for breakfast and I make up big tubs of cooked chicken, rice and some vegetables for dinner. They have that maybe five or six nights out of seven, but there is the odd night when I have forgotten to make it up and they are waiting.
