Where would you go that’s not Orlando?

We have booked flights now from and to Tampa. The first 2 weeks we are staying in a villa in Kissimmee.

We want to do head down to Clearwater and do the boat trip to see the dolphins and go to Busch Gardens. This will leave us about 4 days before we heard back to Tampa airport.

Where else would you go? We did Naples last time so aren’t worried about heading down quite as far as that.

Tell me your best things to do outside Orlando?

Englewood, Boca Grande and Port Charlotte? We stayed in Rotunda West a short while ago and it was beautiful there.

I would recommend St Augustine on the east coast. Very historic and a change from the parks.

Closer to home Harry P Leu gardens is different. There is a small homestead and the tour was very entertaining.

I would cut inland from Clearwater to Dunellon and do the Rainbow River. Great fun for the family and something totally different.

Maybe a trip down to Venice and just below it, Casperson Beach with its fossilised Sharks Teeth in the Sand as well as sunset at Sharky’s on the Pier.

Holmes Beach/Bradenton Beach (with Manatees) /Anna Maria is also a lovely area.

De Soto beach, National Park and Fort., just south of St Petes.

Another vote for Sanibel and Captiva - maybe look at Tween Waters Inn On Captiva for a few nights - loads to do onsite and the bay is one side the beach the other

Another vote for the above. We rent a villa in Rotonda, and can get to a lot of great places nearby. Boca is our favourite.
