If you have booked standard with a 4 year old the paddock pool is the best as it has a slide and zero entry. Grandstand has steps into the pool and a lovely water play area. From the grandstand you can walk to Disney springs through the golf course path which takes about 15 minutes to the cirque de soleil area. Either area is good but avoid carousel as it has no pool and is furthest away.

Js as soon as you add your booking to MDE, you will need to add a Credit card as you can't do OLCI without it. It's basically option 1 & option 2 - 1 we use for area & 2 is for things like near pool, high floor etc. We've stayed in the Paddock twice, once lower end which is right across from CP bus stop & a very short walk to CP quiet pool & the second time top end near the pool- downside here was that we were right across from the Fire Station that coupled with the Fire alarms going off in the middle of the night! Paddock pool is good but also busy.

Grandstand has many advantages for standard but to be honest there are pro and cons to all areas and if you don’t mind walking like we do it probably doesn’t make a massive difference.

That's the thing we love walking really, I even wanted to do the walk to crossroads for food. Ironically I tore my calf yesterday running and can barely walk from my living room to kitchen!

The only limitation is our 4 year old. But to be honest, we will just take a travel buggy and he can go in that.

Do you know how early you can do OLCI?

We were only given the option of booking Granstand anyway (presumably because we booked standard not preferred), then there was a sub option of Near Pool, Near Bus Stop or near Carriage House - we went for the latter as it looks close to the boat?

Any thoughts on that?

We've started booking Grandstand & no complaints, if you are using Disney transport it's great because you are basically first on & first off, not unusual for the buses to be full by the time they get to the Springs area! Boat jetty is just down behind the golf clubhouse, generally not busy going to DS but can be coming back. We often walk to the Crossroads from there, buggy is a good idea though.

I’d say near pool.
