Great idea for a thread.

Totally agree with with the recommendation of Hidden Figures I love it, it's one of my favourite movies, Katherine Johnson was a true heroine.

We enjoyed Knives Out. It's a whodunit and it's very clever and keeps you guessing as to who the perpetrator is. It's on Amazon Prime.

I'm going to start a list so I remember some of your other suggestions. I was thinking of watching Philadelphia, the Tom Hanks movie, so I'm tempted by the suggestion of The Normal Heart.

It hasn't been on for a while, but I love the film Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts and also The Wizard of Lies with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. Hidden figures was one of the saddest but also one of the most inspirational films I've ever seen.

I also still watch The Net with Sandra Bullock, I find scary how easy identity theft was and is still relevant today...

The only film ever that’s made me think ( because it scared the bejeusus out of me ) is Knowing with Nicholas Cage don’t ask me why no other film has ever had tan effect yes some I’ve watched once never again Born on the Fourth of July Killing Fields etc but I knew they were tangible but Knowing just way way out of my comfort zone

Philadelphia is my all time favourite film, Tom Hanks is my favourite actor & I think he’s fantastic in all his films but in this i think he is exceptional, I break my heart every time I watch it

Loved that film even more so now I guess.

I think When they see us about 5 black kids in New York was shocking more shocking was the fact that the current US president took out a full page in the NYT asking for their death.
