Great report, thanks.

How bizarre, we went to Bahia Honda twice last year and no weed whatsoever. Small patches of sea grass bayside but that was all. Maybe it’s tge time of year (we went May and September last year).

We've also been back a week.
We did 8 days in Key West... we love it down there..it was absolutely boiling...I knew it was going to be hot...but that heat was something else.
Cocktails and a slow pace sorted it out...

Hi Lulu Belle
Amazing amazing amazing.
Loved Miami even though wasn't expecting to.
The keys were amazing. Very similar experience with KW and the sheer heat. Did the marker pic and had the pie then headed back.
The Hyatt was lovely. Very clean very helpful staff and nice pool. Fab bar at dock too.
Was a great experience though the drive to Orlando was a big one. But we had plenty of time there to recover.
Would be braver next time and go for longer and maybe do more travelling up and down the Keys to see a bit more. Robbies and the Tarpon was a big hit for us

I’d recommend Islamorada as a whole. Robbies has enough to do to keep you entertained for days and there’s some great restaurants on the Key too ... Loreleis and Lazy Days are our absolute favourites, so laid back. Nothing nicer than catching your own fish on the party boat then taking it to Lazy Days to cook for you the following evening
... one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten.

So glad you had such an amazing time too! I think we’d spend longer in the Keys next time as well and although Marriott would be my first choice because we had a great experience there, I’d definitely look at the Hyatt, it sounds lovely so thanks

Glad more people are discovering the 'real' Florida! We love our road trips, ending down the Keys but have only got round to one trip report of one - below.

We love the Keys and Sanibel is my favourite place in the world - shelling at dawn is heaven to me!

Hello,
I realise this is an old post but it came up in my searches as we have booked the Faro Blanco for August, which is next door to the Courtyard by Marriott mentioned by the OP, and wondered what people thought of the location? The Courtyard looks even nicer so may swap if the price drops at all. Is there plenty to do in this area? We have 3 nights in Key West and then 2 nights in Marathon, and plan on going to the turtle hospital and taking the boat over to pigeon key.
