Cooling towels

Are these worth it? How do they work?! Which ones have people used/any recommendations?
Thanks x

I don't know how they work, but they do work. They get lovely and cool.

Which ones have you used? I am worried about how we will cope in the heat so anything that works, by whatever means!

I used them. Basically they are a cloth which holds water without totally dripping water over you and making you soaking wet. They work because they keep your neck damp, which evaporates and has a cooling effect. I just wet them whenever passing a water fountain. I will use them again. My wife used them once and was then not bothered.

Just a cautionary warning they can make your neck very sore.

We never use them and we actually adore the heat - the hotter the better!

However I have seen people wetting these towels and putting them back on and you can tell their necks are sore and it's not sunburn. Maybe the friction as they move?

I just took a face flannel from hotel in a Ziploc bag. Just re-wet it at toilet stops under cold tap. Helped me loads. DH and DD were not bothered. We went July/August

Never felt any need for these, if you are hot just go in a AC shop to cool down.

Dont forget to reapply suncream once you have washed it all off with your towel after each use.

We put wet face cloths in ziplock bags in the freezer...just used them to wipe our necks and faces when it got too hot. As soon as they started to warm up we asked for some ice cubes from the drink sellers and popped them into the bags. It worked perfectly for us
