Bathroom flooring - tiles or vinyl?

Having thought that the only flooring option for our new bathroom would be tiles (with under floor heating), I've now just discovered a flooring called Luxury Vinyl Tiles.
Does anyone know which would be better?
In the last bathroom we did (many years ago) we went for tiles. Although they looked nice and were easy to clean, they were freezing to walk on and after a while the grouting looked dirty (regardless of cleaning).
I'm tempted by the vinyl as we could save money by not putting in underfloor heating but I'm really not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I have a bathroom with tiles and one with the luxury vinyl flooring and I much prefer the vinyl. I find the tiles colder and the grout annoys me (pain to keep clean). The vinyl is also non slip.

Personally if you are considering UFH - then go for it. Our only mistake when we did our refurb was not spending the extra for UFH everywhere (we just have ufh in main open plan, utility and bathrooms). It is night and day better than traditional radiators.
Do for me that would make the decision.
Plus tiles are a much better job.
And a warm floor all the time - fantastic in a bathroom.

We have Malmo click vinyl flooring in our new bathroom and I love it. It went down like laminate, was so quick for DH to fit, and it waterproof so perfect for a bathroom.

We have sheet vinyl. I chose it because I couldn't balance the colour scheme. My DH was unhappy at first as he specifically wanted wood effect but we are all agreed that it is more comfortable under foot, practicable and watertight. Would choose the same again. Not quite so trendy perhaps.

Nice rubber sheet flooring available too.

One sentence gives the answer - pipes under the floor!

Floor tilers make a good living replacing tiled bathroom floors that a Plumber has had to smash up to get at a leak in a pipe. People think it wont happen. It does.

Tiled floors look awesome I agree. Not for me thank you. I am gutting our bathroom next year and already know I wont be tiling the floor.

The other high risk issue is a tiled bath panel. Again that sometimes has to be smashed out sadly. Far better to have a traditional panel. Even the tiled access panel doesn't look good.

I recently replaced tiled floor with LVT- leak from bath caused fine hairline crack in one tile which eventually spread to three!

We have LVT in bathrooms. They are warm underfoot and easy to clean.

We have Kardean flooring , really warm under foot

I'm having tiles at present, they are not smooth so should reduce slippage. No under floor heating but it is above the kitchen so warm.
