Nintendo Switch...

Hi,

We have a Wii Fit console which is by now probably an antique.

DH has an Xbox and a Playstation...

Is a Nintendo Switch the latest version of the Wii Fit? I am looking for some type of console that DD and I can play some fun games on, possibly over Xmas if I'm not too late?

Any feedback on the Nintendo Switch? I presume this is a console that contexts with our TV? God I sound like a dinosaur

Ta in advance,

Ali x

Hi. I'm 69, and my grandchildren said I should get one. I now play it almost every evening. I think it's great (although at my age I play games like Mario, Luigi and Crash.

I know Nintendo make a lot more games, so I don't think you'll have any problems finding games.

By the way, you can play using the console screen or on your TV.

The graphics are amazing.
Hope this helps.

The switch is the most up to date console from nintendo
the standard switch can be used handheld or connected to the tv the lite version is handheld only.

There are some great family games on the switch but the games and accessories can be expensive compare to other consoles

Most of the mario games are for the switch

We have ring fit for the switch which is great fun but challenging - I'm sure it will get lots of use in Jan for the post xmas get fit

The memory size isn't great but you can by memory cards to extend it - there are usually lots of cheaper games available to download but you want have space for many without a memory card

You can get an online subscription which is optional- I don't usually bother but they have just added among us which needs online access so added it this week

The Nintendo Switch is a console, and the Wii Fit was a game that was used on the Nintendo Wii.

I guess a similar game to Wii Fit is Ring Fit Adventure, although it's a bit more intense than Wii Fit was. It's quite pricey though.

I love the Switch. You plug a charging station into the TV and you can play on the TV, or you can pop it out of the station and play it in your hands like an old game boy.

Great family fun, for sure. Continues where the Wii left off.

You're very unlikely to regret your purchase.

Brilliant, thank you all!

So, if I am looking to buy a bundle of some type, any recommendations? Best games to start off with?

Any other game recommendations?

We would want two controllers...

We used to love the Lego games on the Wii, Harry Potter etc

Thanks again.

Ali x

It comes with two controllers, however make sure you buy the Switch, and not the Switch Lite.

The former can be played handheld, however the two controllers are detachable for when you connect it to your TV. The Lite can only be played handheld.

Mario Kart remains a classic two-player game that you'll get numerous hours of fun from.
