Eating Around The World Today
I decided to snack around World Showcase as the food and wine festival is in full swing. I only got about a third of the way today before I was full though 😁 So I started in France with a croissant escargot. They describe it as 'a flaky pastry with escargot ' I guess they don't want to say 'snails' It cost £4.26 ( all prices here translated to sterling). For scale- the plates are about 4 inches across It was crispy, garlicky, with three snails in it. I thought it was ok but very small. 7/10 Next was Brazil sorry no photo because actually I had this yesterday ...I had the moqueta which is a fish stew with rice £4.19 Better value because nice big chunks of white fish and very tasty 10/10 Picture of France menu here just to confuse you 😁 Next was chocolate baklava at Morocco. I'm not really a sweet tooth but this was excellent. Very crispy shell, nice sticky sauce and good chocolate interior. £3:60 so a bit pricy because it wasn't very big but very rich so enough Menu at Morocco Next...Japan for a sushi roll with volcano sauce £4.26 This was good value for quantity as it was quite big. Well made and the rice was nice but the filling totally overpowered by the sauce which was VERY hot Menu for japan Next was USA. I needed a beer after the volcano sauce so I chose the Blue Star wheat beer which was lovely and the beef slider total price £8.43 The beef slider was the best snack of the day. The bread had taste and texture, the chunk of beef was tender and tasty and the raw chillies just hot enough to 'cut' the creamy sauce Menu for usa My last snack was chicken korma at India. It was nice but nothing special and no different to anything at a takeaway in the UKand only three bits of chicken. The naan was a bit hard £4.22 and 7/10 Menu at India Last stop was Mexico. I had the capirotada yesterday - the sauce was lovely but the pudding in it only ok. So today I had the beer with liqueur floater £4.02. I don't know what the floater was but it made the beer pink. It was really nice, just a tiny bit sweet with a nice strong hop flavour to follow I would have this again on a hot day. So that's it for today. I will do some other festival stands another day |
