Had a decent night's sleep, with no sign of the yapping dog next door so maybe they were face timing their pet at home

Breakfast at the Comfort Inn was great so filled ourselves up and headed out to Death Valley. I didn't tell Brian until we got in the car that it was more than 100 miles just to the Visitors Centre. His face was a picture 🤣🤣

All I can say is WOW and more WOW. I genuinely never expected such stunning scenery round every turn. It was another long day of driving but so worth it.

Again, there was nowhere in Lone Pine that we fancied for eating out, so subway and a bottle of wine back at the hotel tonight as we are both knackered and this was one of the only hotels on our trip with laundry facilities so wanted to get some done before heading to Yosemite tomorrow.

We still thought Lone Pine was a bit of a strange place, however we did find out that the annual film festival was going on so this might have explained the horses outside the bar last night

The scenery is fab but the heat in Death Valley really is something else!

October was a great time to visit, the temperatures were really manageable in the low to mid 80's

Some stunning pictures. Pretty sure the scenery made up for the long drive!

It certainly did, we weren't expecting to love Death Valley as much as we did, didn't expect such stunning scenery
