Thanks everyone for your encouragement and pm's.

I'll wait until I finish the whole thing before I make any corrections - thanks very much for those too.

Can anyone confirm if Virgin still use the old 747s from Heathrow, or are they now using A320s, please?

I probably won't get a chance to work on this until Wednesday - but we're 2/3 of the way through, so we're nearly there!

Virgin were still using the old 747's from GATWICK last weekend, I have emailed them several times and asked when they will be upgrading planes on this route and they dont seem to want tto give me a straight answer all they seem to want to do is tell me what awards they have won, what good service they offer and what good value they are.

just to add to Pino's post about flights, BA also do a direct supposed flight that isn't non-stop. They run Heathrow to Dallas before partnering you on an American internal flight to Vegas. A tad annoying!

What a fabulous thread - we are off to Vegas next month and so this is invaluable.

I would just add that for us, we booked flights as early as poss and have just bagged a bargain for the Venetian, so it really does pay to wait for those hotel rates to come down.

thanks again - fantastic thread.

Great advice. Thanks.
Can I ask one question though. If I were to drive from Vegas to the Grand Canyon how long would it take ?

Thanks again.

To the west rim, I think it's 2 1/2 to 3 hours, one way.

To the south rim, it's more like 5 hours, one way.
