"BIG" rides at Disney/Universal - which ones to choose?

If you arrive for park opening chances are you will be able to walk straight onto any ride of your choice so why not pick 1 'big' ride to do first thing so the rest of the family are'nt waiting too long for you. Also any rides you want to go on that have a single rider queue, use that and you will be almost straight on.
