Hi - can you explain 'soft opening' to me? Does it mean unadvertised trials? For anyone in the park? Does that not cause a build up of crowds I think I am the only one hoping that it definitely won't be open in May when we go as we'll be happy with the HP stuff that's already there and fewer crowds... Its where they let people in for so long then close the gates. We were told midweek was usually common for soft openings & I think it was a Tuesday we went. We went in at 9am & noticed they had closed the gates a bit later on. We were in there for a few hours & came out about 1pm. We went on 'The Forbidden journey' ride, we waited 1 1/2 hours in the queue but it was worth it.

We have been again since then & been on it a few times since, but it was great being able to look around that day. We went on the day it opened, but as you can imagine the queues were horrendous (the queue to get in was right around near Superhero Island & there was no shade, so we gave up & went elsewhere).
