We had a scone and cream and jam - the cream was so cold I had to slice it and put it on the scone, no butter given so was dry. Did start the conversation of cream 1st then jam or jam 1st then cream.

We flew with Virgin this summer, and my overriding memory of the flights was that I couldn't remember the point where you sit there and get fed up because you've been in the air for what feels like ages, but are still so far away.

We have asked for things that they then forget. My Daughter was feeling unwell and somebody said they would bring her some water...they forgot, but then they are catering for 400 people, so we tried to be understanding.

I take enough entertainment to cope with the fact their system may not be working, and enough food so I don't go hungry... and this makes it easier to let the little things go rather than getting worked up about them. Yes some flights are better than others, but the only genuinely bad flights have revolved around fellow passengers on night flights and me trying to sleep.

That's been pointless since they started doing it...

Maybe they could have paper cups instead though I am not an expert on what is the lesser of 2 evils.
I'm pretty sure UK licensing laws do not allow this, every drink served in a licensed premise (and a UK flagged plane is a licensed premise) has to be served in a clean glass or drunk from the container

We haven't flown with Virgin since 2017 to Mexico. It will be interesting to compare the experience next month. The staff on the Mexico flight were very attentive and I don't recall hearing any birthdays mentioned.

but they give me the bottle of gin or wine and I pour it into the glass. I don't need or want a clean one everytime. Pubs don't always give you a clean glass either
