Taking your own coffee
If you were invited to a friends house for a cuppa and a chat, do you think it would be ok to take your own coffee sachet with you?
Or should you accept what is provided? |

Unless you want decaf and she may not have any then you should have what you are given.

I'm not a tea or coffee drinker (but DH is, so have it in the house) so not sure of the etiquette but I would be slightly annoyed if someone came to mine with their own. Unless it was a really good friend xx

I often take costa to peoples houses including my customers. You aren't visiting the queen so ignore so called etiquette (you are taking a coffee not a 3 course meal).

Depends on why you would want to and your relationship.
I wouldn't be offended at all, curious maybe unless it was obvious. |

Unless you drink decaf and you know your friend doesn't have a jar in then I think there's a risk that you could offend. Safer to accept what's offered, or a glass of water!

Thanks all. Actually my friend did this to me, and she knows I have plenty of tea and coffee options inc decaf!
I was just a bit taken aback and wondered if this was a ‘thing’ nowadays! |

I do think it is off for a visitor to take their own coffee, as others say unless you don’t have decaff.
I have put up with it from my sil for years though. She brings her own tea bags, her own skimmed milk and even her own cup ! Don’t ask me why I’ve never figured it out ! ( she doesn’t visit very often !) |

Do you only drink a specific blend, and are you good enough friends that your friend would know that and be fine with you bringing your own?
I have to say I think it would seem a little strange to me if I didn’t know you really well, I invited you to pop in for a coffee and then you brought your own 😉. |

I wouldn't do it, but if someone did it to me, I wouldn't think anything of it. I have other thinks to worry about than a cup of coffee.
