Cheers for that, I can remember me and my friend dancing to come on Eileen in our dungarees, in 1982 I'd have been 11 which is same age as my youngest is now... She wouldn't have a clue who dexys midnight runners are

I’m still coming to terms with 1984 being 35 years ago!

Me too! 1984 is a pivotal year for me, not entirely sure why but I just remember certain things so vividly. Like writing and underlining the date in my school books, and working out how old I’d be in the year 2000. Odd to think we’re more years past the millennium than I was before it back then. I turned 10 in 1984, and met DH only 10 years later. That too doesn’t seem right!

Ah see I’ve subjected my children to 80s music since they were born so they are well versed in Come on Eileen

Only song my daughter constantly listens to at minute is this ... my latest ear worm

When I tell her I used to listen to billy Ray Cyrus when I was younger she looks at me like I’ve two heads

My daughter says Come on Eileen is a staple of student parties at University! I turned nine in 1982 so I remember it well

My date of birth is (almost) twice as close to WW2 as it is to today's date.

I have a strong dislike of Come on Eileen, especially the bit that gradually gets faster.
