Well final plan (maybe)

So, cutting a long story short, my 40th next year and was going to japan, but as eldest daughter is now in USA and is 21 in the same week we are doing a big american trip.

Flying to orlando
2 nights DTD
2 nights yacht club (40th birthday)
1 night universal
1 night DTD
fly sanford to Tulsa
5 nights with Daughter
drive from tulsa to Grand canyon with one stopover thinking alberqerqie
we are not bothered about long drives.
one night el torsa grand canyon
2 nights las vegas bellagio (renewing vows) elvis style, bucket list idea a bit of fun.
1 night death valley staying at the ranch
then we have 6 nights left
thoughts are
2 nights santa barbara
2 nights anaheim Disney
2 nights santa monica
also advice on where to stay in above areas.
we want to see the main sights of hollywood etc but not ones for taking things easy.
fly back from LAX
Now not sure on what order to do last 6 nights in, thinking order above but any other thoughts greatly recieved.

I am with JDouds on Anaheim. Disney was the only downer on our 2 week vacation in 2017. Not because it was particularly bad, rather that the rest was so awesomely good!

I appreciate that different groups have different ‘must do’s’.

Next Easter, we are not even visiting a theme park, so good are the alternatives.

I agree but never been to la or Disneyland and feel we need to see it, would have loved to just stay a week central to the main buts we are wanting, thought we could have got a villa, but it’s all different, really struggling with where to stay the last 6 nights.

Disneyland California is the original park and so different to Orlando.

Very much worth doing on a first visit. You probably then won't do it for the next few west coast.

If your DD is into you tubers then Venice beach should also be on your agenda. We always enjoy a good day there relaxing along the front. Some don't like it as it has a very hip vibe and not like a British coastal resort. That's more Santa Monica.

For where?

It will be 45-60 minutes from universal and 90+ from Disney.

Ok for the beach resorts and Beverly hills though.

For you last 6 nights I would do
2 nights Burbank for Hollywood, Universal, Warner Bros etc
2 nights Anaheim for Disney
2 nights Redondo beach, Manhattan beach area to go up and down the coast as far as Santa Monica

Save Santa Barbara for a Pacific Coast Highway trip where you could do San Fran, Yosemite, Monterrey and right down to San Diego.
