Trying to justify Discovery Cove swim...
Hey,
So, my DD will be 12 when we go next year and my DS will be 8.5. My niece is intending coming with us if she can get the annual leave from her new job, she will be 22. My niece has been to Florida before with her parents as a kid but never did DC. I know for a fact that my DD would LOVE to swim with dolphins, not so sure about DS but I think if his sister was doing it then he would want to too! DH not keen (think he's scared haha!) Niece would be buying her own ticket but for the 3 swims and 1 non swim for us it would come to ~£850. I know that gets us into SW, BG and Aquatica as well but I only want to do SW and BG for a day each, not fussed about AQ. Someone tell me it's worth it? I'm telling myself that they're only young once and it won't be long before they don't want to come on hols with us anymore etc etc So, today I was thinking... if we are away for 3 weeks next July we will hardly use any of our salary that month. Sooooooo, if I put the price of the DC tickets on an interest free credit card, I could just clear it with our debit card after we get paid at the end of June. We are hoping to fly out on 2 July and will be coming back on the morning of 24 July (my next payday!) so we won't be short when we get home! I love it when a plan comes together Now, how far in advance should I book with DC? 😜 |

Excited about Disney

£850, is it really that much for July? We are going this September and it cost us £150 each for the ultimate swim option. So that was £450 for the 3 of us.

I would say with confidence that you have justified a visit to DC. Personally I would have just said, "it's amazing, I love it, so will the kids, sod the expense, we are doing it"
I guess both, kinda work. |

Just go for it. We are going for the first time in October and really looking forward to it. We booked over a year in advance through Attraction Tickets Direct and paid a deposit per person, that might be better than putting it on a card this far ahead. I think sometimes you need to do these things, as you said how many family holidays are left.

It is amazing, such a wonderful day. Remember all food, including snacks and drink is included for that day as well, we tend to have enough to only need a snack at the most at the night time.

I would probably just add it to the cost of our holiday as the company I have booked it through will do that. Just need to get them to price match Florida escapes who I think have the cheapest tickets I have seen. July is the most expensive month anyway but I think the prices for next year are higher than this year too which makes it über expensive 😳
