Royal Caribbean "Quantum of the Seas" - TA Nov 2014

DW and I are booked on Royal Caribbean's "Quantum of the Seas" on it's maiden Transatlantic voyage from Southampton to New York (New Jersey) in November 2014. We have booked a large inside Virtual Balcony stateroom for the crossing.

Fingers crossed that it works.

If anyone else is interested in this TA, and has cruised on Royal Caribbean before, there have been big price cuts for Crown & Anchor members. I could have got £300 back (from our £1,699 cost (for 2 people - not each)) OR got a guaranteed balcony for the same price, but opted to pay £350 more for a Superior D1 Balcony, which is the cat below suites (which are sold out). Check out Royal Caribbean's website.

Hope you have a smooth crossing!

Would you do us a trip report with lots of detail about the actual cruise line as well as what you did on the trip. We could start a new sticky with details of Royal Caribbean booking process, ships etc.

Have a great time.

DW gets claustrophobic and was nervous about the virtual balcony. There was a recent price crash for past Royal Caribbean cruisers (Crown & Anchor members) which meant we could either get money back, or upgrade our booking at no cost or super upgrade at not much cost. I chose the latter, so we have gone from a Cat K to a Cat D1 which is 14 or so Categories higher. I'll check out a Virtual Balcony on the cabin crawl though.
