Car hire cost

I am constantly reading on here about people paying sub £500 for car hire over 2 weeks, can anyone tell me how?

Ok so it’s not for olando(this time) but looking at LA to San Francisco for 12 days is coming in at £640 for a mustang.
Any tips on how to get it cheaper?

Best thing to do is google 'compare us car rentals' and try your dates on 3 or 4 UK comparison websites, such as Holiday autos, Expedia, kayak, skyscanner.

That way you'll find how low you can get. As an example we've got 3 weeks in an Avis Mustang from Sanford for just under £600 for later this month.

Book early if you see a good deal as you can usually cancel any time up to a couple of days before collection date with most companies, should you change your mind or find a better deal.

Defintiely try Virgin Car Hire, just got a good deal on a Ford Expedition (or equivalent) for three weeks in August, cheapest I could find using all the different sites.

Thanks everyone we are looking at sep 22 collect from Los Angeles lax and drop off oct 3rd in San Francisco... as per hubbys requirements it has to be at least a convertible mustang 😁

Virgin are coming in cheaper thanks bara03 as I would not of thought to check with them.

We have never done car hire separately, usually it’s a ba fly drive or a package of some form so although no stranger to DIY this is a new area for me.
