So to jump on your thread but is it easy to return cars when your not happy with them? We had a luxury car booked this trip and was really disappointed with it. It had lots of dents and dinks. The interior was scruffy but worst of for us (as non smokers) was that it stank of cigarette smoke. It was so bad we had to buy air fresheners to try and mask it. We did think that we should have taken it back but wasn't sure if we would have hassle.

I'd like to know that too for future reference as at one point we did contemplate taking it back quite early on, but just didn't want the hassle

Absolutely take it back and get it changed if you're not happy with it. Smoking in the car can also lead to a $300 cleaning bill so not worth the risk.

I picked up a Buick with leather seats, sat nav etc. last September and it smelled of smoke, I just thought that the delivery driver had had smoke immediately before he delivered it. I didn't want to hang about because we were driving Rotonda. It was still minging when we arrived so I bought a furniture spray and had to douse it every morning. I complained when we returned it and I was advised that I could have gone into any Alamo depot and they would have changed it. I was hoping for a credit for 2018 but I got the cost of a free tank of gas instead. I have returned vehicles early to MCO before and didn't have any hassle about it whatsoever.

I took back our huge Toyota 4Runner and swapped it for a Mazda CX9 yesterday =, this was on the back of a "Maintenance Required" message on the dash
It was really easy at Avis. Parked the car back as a return and told the checker who gave me a slip that I took to the Avis booth. They gave me a car (A horrible Ford Flex) that I then went back and swapped for the CX9 after asking specifically. This is actually a virtual test drive for me as I am considering it's slightly smaller brother the CX5 in the UK So far - a beautiful drive and far less lurch-y than the 4Runner Regards Gary
