Old WDW tickets still active

We last went to WDW in 2016 and we had 14 day ultimate tickets, and we only used them for 8 days.

We have purchased 14 day ultimate again, and they are all linked on MDE, but we have two active tickets showing, as well as our magic bands!

Why are they still showing as active as they will have clearly expired by now? Just curious really, and hoping they won't cause us any issues on arrival at the parks.

Tickets are separate to MagicBands. MagicBands aren't tickets. So your MDE account should correctly show the 14 day Ultimates that you recently bought and the MagicBands as well.

Unless you mean that there are two sets of tickets (not MagicBands) showing - the old set and the new set? Technically, you can still use the old plastic cards that you may have to enter the parks as long as you've bought new tickets. Tickets and plastic cards are different just like tickets and MagicBands are different.

Hi Nimbus,

Yes I mean that we have our old plastic tickets showing as still active. Surely they have expired form 2 years ago despite us not using them for the full 14 days?

We do have new tickets showing too.

Are you seeing these under the magicbands and cards tab or the reservations and tickets tab?

If it is the magicbands and cards tab then it's normal. Every medium, be it a card or a magicband, that is linked to your profile becomes a clone of all others. Think of it as a chip that is read by the tapstiles. The machine reads the chip, looks up the profile that is attached to it, and then checks for a valid tickets, a fastpass, a hotel room, etc on that profile.

Once you linked your old tickets to your MDE profile the ticket was linked to your profile and no longer physically present on the card. The card, like a magicband, is simply a means for machines to access your profile.

You can manually deactivate the old cards in your account if you want to make sure no one can use them if you lose them. We always deactivate our magicbands when we're back and reactivate the ones we take with us before we go back.

Cards and bands remain active until you deactivate them.

I wonder if they were entered onto the system as MYW tickets ( with none expire option ) and you have 6 days left on them ? ?

Now that would be a right result

Any tickets you added the non expiry to will still be valid. If you didn’t make them non expiry when bought, they won’t be valid any longer, even if they still register on your account. This also includes the old “pluses” such as water park, even if you only have those left and not park entry days. Hope that makes magisense!
