If you elect to do it, just drive on through rather than pulling in to the toll booth plaza. Alamo will bill your credit card with the admin fee and the toll a month or so later.

To the OP it will never be cheaper, as you still pay the toll plus an admin fee, it merely offers an alternative to pulling over and paying the toll manually and a charge for the convenience
