Getting closer and I notice the seat map regularly goes from very few free seats to totally full before freeing up again...weird.

VS0027
LGW-MCO
26th April

VS0016
MCO-LGW
14th May

Many thanks!
Airline seating is a law unto itself and with the added complications of KLM/AF in the future it will become even more erratic. Some routes can be wide open one day close to departure and then completely fill up without rhyme or reason (Dubai is a classic example). But here goes and I will do my best...

VS 27

UC - 2 seats unoccupied
PE - Full with 20 HK blocked and oddly 20 AB available to book
PE - Lower Deck 10 seats unoccupied with row 14 blocked
EC - Upper Deck Full with 11 seats blocked for paid seating
EC - Lower Deck 67 seats unoccupied with 49 blocked

VS 16

UC - 4 seats unoccupied
PE - Upper Deck Full with 20 HK blocked
PE - Lower Deck7 seats unoccupied with row 14 blocked
EC - Full with 4 singles blocked for paid seating
EC - Lower Deck 66 unoccupied with 39 blocked

At this date/time VS selling NO UC, 5 PE and most EC fare buckets

Hope that helps.

Very interesting thanks! Would you expect both flights to be busy/quiet/normal based on the above?

The outbound flight is already about 2/3rds full with the majority of the unoccupied seats situated near the back of the aircraft - generally a VS 747 has about 375 seats in EC and at the moment only 116 unoccupied/blocked so I regard that as busy (but everyone has their own opinion).

The inbound flight looks the same with 105 unoccupied/blocked seats again mainly at the back so again I regard that as busy - but at this stage not very busy/full but of course that could change over the course of the next few weeks.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for this. I'll be sure to update on the actual flight load when the time comes. Much appreciated.

Hi! You checked LHR to SFO BA0287 on 7/3 for me a few weeks ago and I wasn’t too bothered to book seats then. Having just checked the seat map again, it looks like WT+ has filled up. Do you think that’s a true reflection or are seats being blocked?
Thank you

Cheers,
Hello bosshogg sorry about the delay it is just after lunch where I am now - here goes

BA 2167

Club - 7 seats unoccupied with 2 blocked
WTP - 15 seats unoccupied with 4 blocked
WT - 60% unoccupied/blocked

At this date/time BA selling NO WTP fares and only the highest WT fare buckets. Suggest you do OLCI as soon as it opens.

BA 2166

Club - 7 seats unoccupied with 2 blocked
WTP - 29 seats unoccupied with 3 blocked
WT - 70% unoccupied/blocked

At this date/time BA selling 3 Club and only 3 highest WT fare buckets so expect those cabins to be busy.

Hope that helps.

Hello kateb78 - sorry about the delay so no problem here goes

BA 287 operated by an A380

First - 2 seats unoccupied
Club - Upper Deck 20 seats unoccupied with 1 blocked
Club - Lower Deck 16 seats unoccupied with 2 blocked
WTP - Upper Deck 23 seats (mainly singles) with 4 blocked
WT - Upper Deck Wide Open
WT - Lower Deck Wide OPen

In answer to your query most WTP aren't blocked it is just that the majority of available seats are singles especially all seat designation row E are available at this date/time.

Hope that helps
