If you don't eat all day at work because you don't want to use a portaloo, then surely you can just employ the same logic/ tactic on a plane? No need for you to be up every 5 or 10 minutes then.
I'd be far more worried about what you would do during a lengthy period of turbulence when the seat belt signs may be on for an hour (in actual fact, this is a huge issue for my son, and a really big worry). As far as a sunflower lanyard goes, you can buy them from the Hidden Disabilities website. |

I have to say I am very suspicious that Virgin confirmed your worst fears that the passenger will be taking a sleeping pill and sleeping the whole trip, seems a bit coincidental to me that you listed a concern earlier and that a) the scenario you were dreading has apparently come to fruition and b) that virgin would actually give you that information.
Assuming the rest of the thread is genuine, if you are unable to rebook seats now, in future I really do think your partner needs to recognise your medical condition over her fear. While I do not want to diminish a mental condition, yours has very real physical affects that are unpleasant for you and the “dreaded” passenger. I have toilet anxiety so book an aisle seat, always, and my partner always concedes even though he prefers a window. Thankfully we got the back of the plane seats this time but if we hadn’t we’d be middle and aisle. |

They're only about £1 plus a small amount of postage. We got a pin badge too, and saves my son (and me!) the anxiety of worrying about whether they will be in stock at the airport x
ETA, I've just checked; they're 55p! Cheap enough to be safe in the knowledge it's one less thing to worry about... Edited at 04:12 PM. |

If this is the Gatwick flight on 27/4, I’ve just gone through a dummy booking and there are still a few groups of 3 seats available. There is even the 3 exit row seats (row 38) still showing as available

I’m sorry but surely virgin discussing one passenger with another is all sorts of breach of data confidentiality!
Op I’m sorry you have to deal with this but maybe a call to virgin sooner would have resolved the issue, rather than relying on the hope that the flight wasn’t going to be full. Especially given your condition. Not sure why it seems to be that the other passenger is being made out to be in the wrong for not wanting to move from a seat he’s presumably paid for, possibly to be near his family. |
